Kampala University's Sister Institution Holds 6th Graduation Ceremony

It was a festivity day when The East African University (TEAU) is holding its 6th Graduation congregation as well as Celebrating for the attainment of a Charter status at Kitengela -Nairobi -Kenya on the 31st day of August 2023 in style.

The University’s Chairman BOT who also doubles as the Vice-Chancellor Kampala University Owek.Amb .Al-Haj Prof.Badru D.Kateregga encouraged Graduands to remain focused, offer practical solutions, and become vanguards of socio-economic transformation in their respective societies, while clearly observing and upholding the Country’s motto: ‘Harambee’! .

He further challenged them to stay in touch with their University in many ways, “engage with your Alma Mater so that this University continues to make meaningful contributions to National, Regional, and Global transformation and development” Prof.Kateregga said.

He appreciated his Vice Chairperson – BOT (Mrs. Kateregga Jolly Shubiaha) for her hard-work and dedication in overseeing all University construction projects – especially the Multi-Million Dollar Library from inception to completion.

Prof.Kateregga expressed gratitude to the Community and County Leadership, the Governors - especially the Kajiado Governor, the Senators, and all our Representatives for the good cooperation exhibited. We call upon the Central and Local leadership to continue supporting this venture, and to strengthen the Public-Private partnership for the good of the area, he said.

In his remarks, Hon.Prof.Mondo Kagonyera -Chancellor The East African University, while presiding over this auspicious occasion , he thanked the Government of Kenya for the Technical support and guidance it rendered to The East African University (TEAU) through the Commission for University Education (CUE) that enabled it Institution attain a Charter status on the 2nd day of August 2022 during a function that he personally attended at Kamamega State Lodge, and he congratulated graduands of the 2023 cohort for having made history by being the first lot to graduate under a fresh Charter, he encouraged them  to uphold the values they have lived for while at The East African University and also to be remain competitive, creative and innovative in the world of work.

The function was graced by the Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) Prof.Callixte Kabera who is also the Vice-Chancellor of East African University Rwanda as the  the Chief Guest, and encouraged graduands always to work hard for the betterment of their lives.

The University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Marcelline Kitambala thanked Government of Kenya for the conducive environment in place that has enabled Institutions of higher learning to play their role. He further advised Graduands to remain focused, be good leaders, work as a team and  to come back for further studies.

On the same function , a new University website was launched and a research journal.
