As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Kampala University has deemed it fit to happily donate ten Million Uganda Shillings towards the preparations of the Royal wedding of Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV today 13th November 2023 at Sheraton Hotel Kampala.

Isebantu is set to tie the knot with Ms. Jovia Mutesi on November 18 at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe - Jinja City.

The 10 million Cheque was handed in by the University Vice-Chancellor Owek.Amb.Al-haj Prof.Badru D.Kateregga to the Deputy Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom Owek.  Alhajji Osman Ahmed Noor.

We have been closely working with the Busoga Kingdom for quite several years most especially through our Jinja-based Campus located at Jinja-Iganga highway near Mailo Mbiiri and together we have done a lot as far as transforming our people is concerned Prof Kateregga said. Standing in solidarity with the Basoga is noble and dear to us, we pledge to continue supporting the Kingdom activities and the sky will be the limit.

He added that, for some good time we have been extending bursaries to students from the Busoga worthy 400 million Uganda Shillings and as a gift for this Royal wedding, we intend to continue with the same arrangements for more years. In addition, he encouraged the people of Busoga to continue supporting Isebantu, educating the young generation, working hard, to embracing the cultural norms, values and heritage for the prosperity of our lovely kingdom.

Professor congratulated and extended his good wishes to the Kyabazinga and his future spouse, hoping for a happy marriage that will further strengthen the Kingdom of Busoga. On this occasion, he was accompanied by the Jinja Campus Director Mr.Richard Kaberuka, and the University Public Relations Officer Mr.Ssekatawa Julius, Haji.Yunus Ntale and Mr. Ibrahim Mudathri.

In response, Owek. Alhajji Osman Ahmed Noor expressed his gratitude for Kampala University’s contribution towards the Royal wedding and pledged to continue working together.
