KU Trashes KIU In The Pepsi University Football League

In a thrilling university football match, Kampala University (KU) triumphed over Kampala International University (KIU) with a 1-0 score in the Pepsi University Football League for a perfect start to the 2024/25 season.

The match, held in Luzira, saw Wanuume Gilbert score a decisive goal, assisted by Ssembatya Sharif in the first half.

As the whistle blew, the match began with both teams testing each other’s defences. The KU Eagles are known for their fast-paced attack, and they wasted no time showing why. Within the first 11 minutes, they scored a beautiful goal. The crowds got excited and motivated as the ball hit the back of the net, “We’ve got this! Stick to the plan, KU fans started singing”.

The final whistle after the 90th minute testified that it wasn’t only skill that had won them the match; it was their unity, determination, and belief in one another, Coach Titi said.

This win gives Kampala University a strong start to their campaign. It also took it level on three points with Gulu University at the top of Group D. Gulu defeated Bugema University by the same score line last week.
