Kampala University Conducts A Content Creation Workshop For The Digital Age At Ggaba Campus
Kampala, Uganda — January 7, 2025 The recent workshop on "Content Creation for the Digital Age," held at Kampala University Ggaba Campus from January 6th to 7th, 2025, drew an impressive crowd of professionals and enthusiasts from various sectors. Hosted by the university, the attendees were trained by Mr. Mohamed Eltayeb Babiker Elkhidir, a professional in producing digital content and a media expert from Al Jazeera.
The two-day event brought together a diverse audience, including staff members from different universities, journalists, marketers, and students, all eager to explore the evolving landscape of digital content creation. The workshop focused on the critical skills and strategies required for producing high-quality content that resonates in today’s fast-paced digital world.
During the session, Mr. Eltayeb shared his wealth of knowledge on the intersection of digital media, storytelling, and technology. He emphasised the growing importance of understanding audience engagement, the ethical considerations of content creation, and the powerful tools available for digital marketing and communication.
One of the key highlights of the workshop was the hands-on training, where participants were encouraged to explore practical content creation tools, editing software, mobile journalism, video journalism, the best app for media production, and strategies for optimising content for various platforms. The session also covered critical aspects like the influence of social media algorithms, video production, and trends in digital journalism.
Attendees had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Mohamed, who shared insights explaining how content creators in journalism can adapt to the ever-changing demands of the industry. The workshop also delved into the challenges facing content creators today, including misinformation, audience fragmentation, and the need for innovation.

Prof. Chris W.N. Kirunda, the Kampala University Director of Quality Assurance, officially opened the workshop on 6th January, and it was closed by Dr. Wakhungu Nathan, the Chairperson of the University Deans Forum, on 7th January 2025, on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of academics, research, innovations, and internationalisation, Dr. Wardah M. Rajab Gyagenda.
The Academic Registrar, Mr. Segawa Hamza, Deputy Director, Quality Assurance, Dr. Aisha Nayiga, and lecturers also heavily participated in this noble workshop.
The trainer, Mr. Mohamed, organised certificates of participation for everyone who attended the workshop.
